ПЕРЕВОД ГЕРУНДИАЛЬНЫХ ОБОРОТОВ

Герундиальный оборот представляет собой сочетание герундия с существительным в притяжательном или общем падеже, притяжательным местоимением, личным местоимением в косвенном падеже или группой слов, которые являются субъектом действия, выраженного герундием. Данный оборот переводится на русский язык существительным или придаточным предложением, вводимым словами то, что …; тот факт, что …; (с тем) чтобы …; после того как …; что … и др.

То, что профессор Кларк будет выступать с докладомна международном симпозиуме, было объявлено только вчера. (О выступлении… было объявлено только вчера).

ПЕРЕВОД ПРИЧАСТИЯ

В зависимости от формы и функции в предложении причастие переводится на русский язык причастием, деепричастием или сказуемым придаточного предложения.

1) В функции определения причастиечаще всего переводится причастием настоящего или прошедшего времени или сказуемым придаточного определительного предложения.

They passed a resolution callingfor a world peace conference.

Они приняли резолюцию, призывающую (призывавшую)к созыву международной мирной конференции.

· В данной функции причастие в английском предложении может стоять после определяемого слова, что может создавать трудности его узнавания.

The method developed made it possible to achieve good results.

Разработанный метод позволил достичь хороших результатов.

· Причастие II (страдательного залога) не всегда можно перевести на русский язык страдательным причастием. Тогда оно переводится сказуемым определительного придаточного предложения.

Tomorrow morning the ‘Right to Life’ campaign supportedby nine religious peace organizations will hold a silent procession.

Завтра утром кампания «Право на жизнь», которую поддерживаютдевять религиозных организаций в защиту мира, организует молчаливую процессию.

· В случаях, когда сочетание английского существительного и причастия не соответствует нормам сочетаемости в русском языке, его приходится переводить другими лексико-грамматическими средствами. Например, такие сочетания, как the letter (statement, resolutionи т.п.) saying (urgingи т.п.)на русский язык обычно переводится: письмо (заявление, резолюцияи т.п.), в котором говорится (требуетсяи т.п.).

The UN resolution saying that the countries involved in the conflict should start peaceful talks was supported by the participants of the summit.

2) В функции обстоятельства причастиепереводится деепричастным оборотом или самостоятельным предложением, или иным способом, в зависимости от сочетаемости слов в русском языке.

· Прошедшее причастие givenпереводится «при условии, если», «если имеется»:

Giventhe annual inflation rate does not exceed 10% the plan to double GDP could be considered realistic.

Еслиуровень инфляции за год не превысит 10%, то план удвоения ВВП можно будет считать реальным.

· Перед причастием может употребляться союз (when, while, if, unless, until, though, once, etc.). В этом случае причастия переводится на русский язык сказуемым придаточного предложения.

If given the opportunity,the industry will rapidly develop.

Если этой отрасли промышленности предоставить благоприятные возможности,она будет быстро развиваться.

3) Причастие в качестве вводного члена предложениячасто переводится на русский язык деепричастием или вводным предложением с союзом если.
